Research Associate

MSU’s Division of Science and Mathematics Education seeks candidates to fill a one-year, with second year renewable, Research Associate position in Physics Education Research at the undergraduate level.


The focus will be on introductory physics courses, in particular on the use and effect of technology in physics teaching. The Research Associate will work with science education faculty in the Division of Science and Mathematics Education (http://www.dsme.msu.edu/), faculty members involved in the LON-CAPA Project (http://www.lon-capa.org/), as well as physics faculty in the Lyman-Briggs School of Science (http://www.lbs.msu.edu/). This position will allow for the opportunity for research in both the lecture and laboratory sections.


Candidates should have a strong commitment to undergraduate physics education, experience in physics education research experimental design and theory, and a doctoral degree in physics or physics education. Prior teaching experience at the undergraduate level is desirable.
